3 Tips to Being a Company Founder During A Pandemic

Being a company founder is never easy, even at the best of times. It can be stressful, exhausting,  you work long hours, and it can be difficult to balance your work along with your personal life.

There’s no ‘how-to’ guide to being an entrepreneur, so it’s important to talk to other founders, learn from people who have been there before, and read things that will help you get through the toughest times.

For this article, I talked to a few company founders and got their valuable insight on what the last year has looked like for them. Most importantly, we asked them about the biggest tip they would pass along to someone else who was going through something similar.

Here’s what they had to say:

(1) Take care of yourself.

“If you take care of yourself, then everything else will take care of itself.

If you are happy and healthy, and go to work each day with a clear mind, then you’ll be able to perform at your best and be the best leader possible. If you don’t take care of yourself, then you’ll struggle to be as productive and sharp as you could be, which will hurt the business you are trying to run.

Eat healthy, exercise regularly, take regular breaks from work to do something you love, and focus on being happy. This will ensure that you can do your best work and succeed as a company founder.”

(2) Adapt to the changing landscape.

“If you stay stagnant, and don’t make any attempt to keep up with the changes going on around you, then you’ll be caught standing still. You might even fall behind and watch as others pass you.

During a pandemic, we all had to adapt to remote work. To succeed, you had to put new processes in place, find new software to use, and just do whatever you need to do to keep things moving forward.

You’re in charge, so you need to think outside the box, take a step back, and make drastic changes!”

(3) Find new ways to stand out.

“The pandemic has changed things as far as standing out and how to reach new people. SEO, social media presence, collaborations with influencers, guest posting opportunities, and more have become more important than ever during the pandemic.

If your biggest method of finding new clients is in person, then you could disappear altogether during the pandemic. This is why people are using the Internet more than ever and finding ways to stand out online.

Try new things out and find a way to get noticed on the Internet among all of the other noise. It could help you launch your company into another stratosphere of success!”
