What are some things that you love?
There are many things that I love. An obvious, but important passion is my career. I love helping people through my work. I believe that plastic surgery, if performed correctly, can make a huge impact on the lives of others. It can help restore a women’s figure after battling breast cancer or give a mom her confidence back after giving birth. It can brighten faces, deliver youthfulness, or even help further a career. I love using my craft to help others.
What’s your favorite T.V. show?
I don’t have a lot of time to watch TV, but I do like to watch the reality show “Botched” when I can. It features two fellow plastic surgeons who help people correct their botched plastic surgery procedures. What I like about the show it that it emphasizes the importance of finding a highly-qualified, board-certified plastic surgeon. I’ve published several reports in my career on the importance of safety in plastic surgery and this is an issue that really concerns me.
What are your aspirations in life?
Honestly, I’m living them right now. I have my own boutique practice in San Diego with an amazing staff. And I have the opportunity to help many people achieve the looks that they desire. I’m also very active in the plastic surgery community and public speaking at events geared towards others in my profession.
What’s your favorite thing about working in your industry?
I’d say that my favorite thing is helping my patients make informed decisions. I spend a lot of time with each one before any procedure to discuss their goals and options. We use state-of-the-art digital imaging software to simulate their results so that they have a good idea of their outcome.
What motivates you every day?
Making a difference in the lives of my patients is what motivates me. There is nothing more rewarding than to see their expressions and gratitude after they have achieved the look they were hoping for. I love seeing their confidence and joy. It truly motivates me to keep doing what I’m doing.
