Halden Zimmermann – President & General Manager

Halden Zimmermann is an entrepreneur and author whose lengthy career includes leadership experience in both the health care industry and the high tech industrial markets. Along with his wife, Zimmermann now oversees several entrepreneurial endeavors of varying size and scope, and he continues to remain deeply committed to his diverse philanthropic efforts while volunteering his time to a variety of charitable causes as frequently as possible.

A graduate of Clarkson University, Zimmermann earned an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and a second degree in engineering management. Eventually, Halden was sponsored by his employer to study at the University of Rochester Simon School of Business, where he earned his MBA. Zimmermann has enjoyed a great deal of success in many of his business endeavors, and he has written several books and articles covering a number of subjects related to his entrepreneurial experience.

What are your favorite books?

I read Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five in one of my high school English classes and was absolutely fascinated by its structure and use of dark humor. I eventually moved on to works by Aldous Huxley, George Orwell and H.G. Wells and enjoyed almost all of them

What’s your favorite type of food?

My parents were both born in Europe — Italy and Austria, to be specific — so I am quite fond of anything that reminds me of cooking from my family. There are a few outstanding Italian restaurants my wife and I visit on a regular basis that really understand how to prepare authentic Italian dishes, but nothing could ever compare to the cooking I grew up with.

What are your aspirations in life?

There are so many things I would like to accomplish, but my main aspirations revolve around my family and my profession. For my family, my aspirations have always been quite simple: to be a great husband to my wife and a great father to my children. For my profession, it has long been my goal to do everything within my power to advance the industry through innovation and education. I feel as though I have been successful in these aspirations, but there is always so much more that can be done.

How could you improve your business?

I am always seeking new methods to improve any aspect of my dental practice. This includes researching new possibilities in terms of patient care as well as always seeking out continuing education opportunities whenever and wherever they happy wheels demo may be available.

What are you most proud of?

I am proud of the wonderful children my wife and I have raised together, and my family will always be a tremendous source of joy in my life. From a professional perspective, I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to contribute so much to the field of dentistry over the years, particularly in helping educate aspiring dental professionals and providing insight into how they can provide consistently exceptional dental care to their patients.
