Joseph Chou is the founder and CEO of Ironfish, a property investment company that has developed an exceptional system of support designed to educate and empower investors as they seek to build a diverse property investment portfolio. Recognizing the opportunity inherent in the Australian real estate market, Mr. Chou founded Ironfish in 2006 and has since overseen an impressive degree of continued growth and expansion, including the opening of a total of eight offices in both China and Australia.

What is your name and current title?

Joseph Chou, Founder and CEO, Ironfish

What are some things you love?

I love singing, playing table tennis, fine dining, and helping people. Out of those three, I’d have to say that helping other people is my favorite thing to do. There’s something special about taking time out of our busy days and investing it into someone else’s life. After all, that’s what being a business owner is all about—helping other people.

What’s your favorite type of food?

My favorite food is seafood and vegetarian. To be more specific, any kind of leafy green has my name on it such as spinach and kale. I love kale because it’s a super food packed with just about everything you need in one bite.

What are your aspirations in life?

My aspirations are to help many people change their thinking and see different possibilities so they can change their life for the better. One of my favorite quotes that became my life motto is, “You cannot correct a problem using the same thinking that created it.” We go through life hoping our situations will change; I know for a while I did. Then one day I realized that it will not ever change unless I did. When you change, everything will change for you.

What motivates you every day?

What motivates me everyday is making people feel better about themselves. Step out of your comfort zone and meet someone new. Shake a hand, change a life. It won’t take as much effort as you might think. Having someone simply know you could have an impact on their life. Whether it’s a positive or negative one is entirely up to you.
