Ralph Slaske is the founder and owner of Ralph Slaske Builders, a custom homebuilding company operating out of and serving the Northwest Ohio area and beyond. With a degree in engineering from the University of Toledo and a strong professional background in a variety of industries and capacities, Ralph has created a unique homebuilding business that has developed an incredible reputation for meeting the precise needs of clients seeking a custom home.

What do you do in your spare time?

I’ve been very passionate about woodworking for many years, and I have a workshop I built myself on my property where I spend a lot of my free time on a wide variety of woodworking projects.

What’s your favorite film?

It’s been some time since I last watched it, but The Dirty Dozen has been my favorite film since the very first time I saw it. Being from Ohio, I’ve always been a big Jim Brown fan, so his part in the film certainly contributes to its continued status as my favorite.

What do you wish you knew before starting a business?

I wish I knew how rewarding an experience it would be. Had I known how gratifying every day of work could be, I would have founded my business at much earlier time than I did.

What’s your biggest accomplishment to date?

It’s always quite humbling to see the reaction of our clients whenever we present a finished home that we have designed according to the specific wishes of that client. I think it is safe to say that my biggest professional accomplishment is simply founding a company capable of inspiring such a reaction in the clients we serve.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

When it comes to custom homebuilding, my biggest pet peeve is the use of imprecise language by other homebuilders. When the overwhelming majority of people hear the word “custom” when referring to the homebuilding process, they envision a design that is far more original and unique than what these builders tend to offer. I’m very proud of the fact that my understanding of the word “custom” is in keeping with the way my clients understand the term, and I believe that this is a large part of the reason why we have enjoyed so much success in serving the people of Northwest Ohio.
