What motivated you to start SupplementCritique.com?
I’ve always been in to health / fitness, and I’ve been hitting the gym since I was probably around 15 years old or so.
I started taking supplements when I hit about 20 years old, and initially would record my results with each individual supplements in a hand-written journal.
Well, one day when I went to make a journal entry, I couldn’t find the damn journal!
I freaked out and tore up my room for about 30 min. trying to find it, to no avail.
Feeling a bit defeated, I decided to head over to a friends house to go hang out.
The second I got in my car I realized where the journal was…in the back seat!
It got me thinking, what would I do if I lost this journal?
The next day I decided to start a website to track my results, and SupplementCritique.com was born.
How has Supplement Critique changed over the years?
Well, I started off just writing about a handful of supplements. People started coming to my site and leaving comments thanking me for my thorough reviews.
Occasionally I would get someone asking if I ever heard of a particular supplement, so I would do a bit of research and write a review.
Over time, the requests started adding up and next thing I knew I was writing 4 or 5 reviews per week.
What makes Supplement Critique different from other supplement review websites?
The biggest difference would be the fact that I’m quite literally the ONLY one who actually tests out supplements and reports my feedback.
The vast majority of supplement review sites out there simply write a “big picture” review of the supplement without actually testing it.
This often leads to erroneous / biased information, and in most cases I can tell they have no idea what they’re talking about.
I take it a step further. I thoroughly research the product, test it myself, and report my results.
What do you do in your spare time?
I enjoy playing beach volleyball and compete at a pro-amateur level. I also target shoot occasionally, and
What is your favorite type of food?
I would have to say it’s a tie between pizza and cheeseburgers. In moderation, of course.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
I can’t really attribute this to any specific person, but “never stop learning” has always been my philosophy in life.
This is probably a shortened version of “a good pilot never stops learning”, but it still rings true for me to this day.
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Procrastination, and not doing it right the first time. If you’re going to do something, do it right. I can’t stand people that cut corners or cheat in life. The way I look at it is you’re only cheating yourself and cutting corners sets one up for long term failure.
What motivates you every day?
Coffee, and lots of it!
