What do you do in your spare time?
Even though my time is often dominated by a wealth of professional responsibilities associated with Tweed Financial Services, TFS Properties, Inc., and Mold Zero, I take great care to make sure I have plenty of opportunities to volunteer my time to the causes I am most passionate about. Some of these causes are human rights, health, education, science, technology, and the environment, along with quite a few others.
What’s your favorite type of food?
I’m open-minded when it comes to food, but I do have a particularly strong affinity for French cuisine. The general culinary philosophy associated with French cuisine is also something I sincerely appreciate, especially the relaxed pace of the dining experience and the smaller portions of delicious — and often quite rich — culinary masterpieces.
What do you wish you knew before starting a business?
It was something of a surprise to discover how invigorating entrepreneurship can be, especially when running a business in an industry so vital to so many people. When I first started my business, I wasn’t sure how to properly channel the energy I experienced each day and was a bit wary about the possibility that the feeling of invigoration might have an adverse effect on how I ran the business. This initial concern was unfounded, and I ultimately embraced the energy and invigoration in a manner that yields significant benefits to the business and also my clients.
What’s your biggest accomplishment to date?
Tweed Financial Services’ 25th anniversary is fast approaching, so I’d have to say that my biggest professional accomplishment is creating the foundation for a business that has thrived for almost a quarter of a century. During that time, we’ve been able to make a difference in the lives of so many people through the services we offer and the client-centered approach we’ve relied on since we first opened our doors.
What motivates you every day?
There are so many factors that can influence the efficacy of a financial plan, and it is incredibly difficult for most people to account for all of those factors while developing a plan that yields both short and long-term results. With this in mind, I am motivated by the opportunity to assist my clients in creating a plan that accounts for all the complexities associated with finance and ultimately leads to the kind of long-term financial security everyone hopes to achieve.
